Vocal/General Music Units of Study for March:
K: Students will perform and describe the musical characteristics of lullabies and marches and will compare and contrast the two styles.
1: Students will identify and perform new music vocabulary, piano and forte, through singing, playing instruments, and listening to music.
2: Students will identify environment sounds in various pieces of music and describe how the sounds played a role in shaping the story of the music.
3: Students will begin earning their Recorder Karate “belts” through performing songs with correct pitches, rhythms, and playing technique.
4: Students will explore music of the past and study famous exemplar composers, such as Mozart, Beethoven, Debussy, etc.
5: Students will examine their personal music preferences and will use the elements of music to explain their listening habits.
